Kurt Cobain... Not Kurt Cobain

Facebook and Twitter were ablaze yesterday with all sorts of condolence messages regarding the 17-year anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death. One of the most poignant (and one of oddest, too) remembrances of Kurt Cobain was the heartfelt blog post of 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto, who admitted, "Not sure I'd be doing this if it weren't for [Kurt]."

Then, Jared Leto shared with fans an extremely eerie video in which he'd impersonates the Nirvana singer, wandering through the woods and singing classics like "Pennyroyal Tea" and "Rape Me." Jared channeled the essence of Kurt Cobain at his December 1993 MTV "Unplugged" performance, right down to the cardigan.  The actor made the clip after hearing there were plans of a Cobain biopic -- Gus Van Sant's "Last Days," perhaps -- but never showed it to anyone... until now.

No one can ever fill Kurt's Converse, but Jared Leto comes pretty darn close. Watch Jared Leto's homage to Kurt Cobain, and watch Nirvana's "Come As You Are" from their "Unplugged" performance, and tell us what you think?
